DESCRIPTION:
Made in England by Lesney and produced between 1977 and 1983 the Airport Coach comes in a number of different guises. Initially produced in only Blue & White the first coaches were branded either British Airways, American Airlines or Lufthansa but in 1981 the Red & White and all White coaches appeared bearing many variants including Qantas, Alitalia, TWA etc. Toward the end of its life a number of non-airline models were produced as promotional vehicles including in Germany a 'Schulbus'. Within the minimal colour range of Blue and Red there are numerous variations in shade. There is also a fairly scarce Lufthansa in White which is quite sought after.

This particular coach is in Metallic Blue and White bearing the American Airlines logo

BOX:
The original box (Type K) is also in very good condition, some minor scuffing to corners but colour retention and firmness are good with all end flaps intact.

GAUGE / SCALE:
Known as 'Box Scale' (made to fit the box) Matchbox 1-75 and Superfast vehicles vary in scale and can be anything between 1:50 / 1:110

GRADE:
C12 - Mint

NB: Our grading system was obviously created for Die-cast models and is occasionally applied to others (plastic vehicles, locomotives, rolling stock, etc.) to help give an indication of an items condition or comparison against a new one of the same type. In these instances it can only be used to compare appearance and not operational suitability.
