Established in 1950, the Aurora Plastics Company was sold in its entirety in 1969. From then it was acquired by numerous other firms until their final parent company Dunbee-Combex-Marx ceased operations in 1980 bringin their demise.

In recent years the Giammarino family have tried to reintroduce the Aurora brand, but so far their attempts have not met with any success.
