Established in 1950, the Aurora Plastics Company was first sold in 1969, being then acquired by numerous other firms until their final parent company Dunbee-Combex-Marx ceased operations in 1980.

Since then, the Giammarino family have tried to reintroduce the Aurora brand, but so far their attempts have not met with any success.
