Corgi Classics Ltd was founded in 1995 after Corgi regained its independance, however it was not to last and in 1999 it was taken over again, this time by Zindardt an American collectors company. Under the new ownership Corgi again became Britains number one model maker and in 2002 acquired the Lledo brand including the well received Vanguard range. The company continued to prosper until finally being acquired by Hornby in May 2008 for a sum in excess of £8m.
