The most popular truck utilised by the German Army and produced in many thousands.
First built in 1930 the 'Blitz' (lighting) name was coined in a prize competion and formed part of the logo (a circle with a stretched 'Z' or lightening bolt in the centre) which is still today depicted on all Opel vehicles.
As part of the war effort between 1935 and 1944 the authorities commanded a build rate that saw more than 130,000 vehicles produced for the German Army. Its light weight and felxibility to carry both trrops and stores made it the most sought after vehcile for all divisions.
The model here is fully prepared for desert combat.
The model is one of only 250 made, is ex shop stock/internal display and is now discontinued.BOX:
The box is in very good condition with the ususual aged related scuffing to some edges.
