DESCRIPTION:
Hand Painted metal products of fine quaity Made in England by William Britain & Co.
A rare collectors example issued in the 1930's as one of Britains 'Racing Colours of Famous Owners' this model shows the colours of Lord Mildmay of Flete.
Famous for introducing Queen Elizabeth (later to become the Queen Mother) to National Hunt racing Mildmay became racing manager to her stables.
Tragically Mildmay's life was cut short having been drowned off the coast of Devon at the age of 41. In honour of his input to jump racing the 'Mildmay Course' at Aintree is named after him as are a number of races begining with the Mildamy Memorial Handicap at Newton Abbot and the Mildmay Novices Chase held annually at Aintree.
The model is not in pristine condition but given its age it is still an excellent collectors piece coming in its original box.
BOX:
The box although a little grubby and having a split to one corner is still in fair condition overall and makes a suitable accompanyment to the model.
