Made in England by Lesney and produced as a Superfast model from 1970 to 1971 the Grit Spreader was always Red with a Yellow back. Variants can be in the shade of Yellow, bases can have Black or Red axle covers and wheels can be the more common 4 spoke or the quite scarce 5 spoke.
particular model is has Black axle covers and 5 spoke wheels. The vehicle condition is excellent (very near mint) but there is a small chip in the paintwork as can be seen in the photos and for this reason we have chosen to downgrade.
The original box (Type G2) is in very reasonable condition, some scuffing to edges and evidence of light crushing. However colour is good and all end flaps are present.
GAUGE / SCALE:
Known as 'Box Scale' (made to fit the box) Matchbox 1-75 and Superfast vehicles vary in scale and can be anything between 1:50 / 1:110
C06 - Excellent
NB: Our grading system was obviously created for Die-cast models and is occasionally applied to others (plastic vehicles, locomotives, rolling stock, etc.) to help give an indication of an items condition or comparison against a new one of the same type. In these instances it can only be used to compare appearance and not operational suitability.
