This Corgi BMC Mini was a limited number variant produced in 1965 following Timo Makinen's success in the Monte Carlo Rally. The earlier version was in the standard yellow and blue corgi box and the car sported a spot light on the roof but Corgi were very quick to make the amendments and release a car that matched the successful vehicle. The model was produced only until the end of 1965 when it was replaced yet again.
This actual model is in exceptional condition downgraded due to some minimal roof markings (barely noticeable) and a few graxes to the front bumper (very light and possibly there since conception). We have not seen a model in such condition. This has to be a prize for any collector.
The box is a little grubby and worn but is complete. One end flap evidences an aged selloptape repair which appears to have been replaced more recently otherwise all flaps are intact. The box is a late 1965 version without the 'winner' flash but nevertheless unlike the majority you may find it is clearly original.

NB: Our grading system was obviously created for Die-cast models and is occasionally applied to others (plastic vehicles, locomotives, rolling stock, etc.) to help give an indication of an items condition or comparison against a new one of the same type. In these instances it can only be used to compare appearance and not operational suitability.
